Job SummaryThe splicer cum team leader is responsible for the precise splicing (connecting) of fiber optic cables. This role often requires working outdoors in various conditions, with a strong emphasis on safety, technical skills and attention to detail.Key Responsibilities:
Fiber Cable Splicing: Perform splicing of fiber optic cable at fiber deployed route / home / office locations.
Inspection & Testing: Conduct tests on spliced cables to confirm that signal strength and continuity are within required specifications.
Installation & Maintenance: Assist in the installation of cables in new locations/Office/Home or existing infrastructure, and maintain cables that are already in place.
Troubleshooting:
Identify faults or issues in cables and take appropriate measures to fix them.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including any cable routes, splicing procedures, and test results.
Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, especially when working at heights or with electrical systems nearby.
Coordination:
Work alongside engineers and other technical staff to execute installations or repairs as needed.
Manage Team members working along with to perform duly assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Fiber optic cable types and splicing methods.
Hands-on Skills on Tools to perform Splicing, OTDR, Power Meter, etc
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues in cable systems.
Attention to Detail: Precision in splicing and testing to ensure proper connections.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in physically demanding environments, sometimes in confined spaces or at heights.
Communication Skills: Clear communication for coordinating with team members and clients.
Education and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some positions may require technical certifications or training in cable splicing, fiber optics Testing
Experience 2 to 3 years of Experience in Fiber Optic Splicing, terminations, Problem analysis skills.
Work Environment:
Field-based, often working outdoors in all weather conditions.
May require evening, night, or weekend work depending on job requirements.
