REQUIREMENTS
Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Social Policy, Social Anthropology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years professional social risk and impact mitigation implementation experience including at least 5 years social performance assurance experience.
Social performance on externally financed extractives projects or international construction industry an advantage.
Practical understanding of Tanzanian land access, cultural heritage, social risk, and impact management; direct experience developing and implementing social risk and impact mitigations, incident investigation and reporting.
Experience in mentoring and coaching teams.
Strong communication skills, proven ability to multitask, work independently, manage large workload across multiple interfaces whilst meeting deadlines.
Excellent computer; database management, report writing, and analytical skills.
Fluency in English (written and spoken) required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements key assurance, reporting and grievance / issue tracking aspects of the Project’s social management system and project audit, assurance and oversight responsibilities.
Receives, reviews, consolidates, and reports outcomes of Project and Contractor social performance assurance.
Monitors quality, accuracy, completeness and frequency of project and contractor social performance assurance and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
Contributes to refining assurance and reporting tools and databases to support Project social performance reporting.
Periodically monitors field activities to support CRS and contractor social assurance and self- assessment efforts.
Develops and tracks adherence to the agreed project social assurance and reporting schedules.
Extrapolates and consolidates project social performance data for internal and external performance reporting.
Prepares and delivers project social performance inductions, awareness raising and training to project and contractorresources including on social contractor control plans/ ESMP and grievance mechanisms.
Prepare and lead coaching and training sessions for CRS and in collaboration with Uganda counterparts to support field- team development.
Coordinate CRS rotational schedules to ensure full time coverage at all work sites / Project-required interfaces.
Coordinates engagement with the LSOC, environment/ biodiversity, land, health and safety, security teams and PIIM/ Human Rights coordinators on information sharing and collaboration on addressing cross-cutting issues.
Contributes to and participates in routine PIIM meetings and working group sessions.
Prepares and delivers project social performance dashboards and data consolidation for routine internal reporting.
Prepare inputs to project social performance dashboards and presentations for external reporting.
Recommend training and additional audit or oversight activities according to Contractor social performance observed.
Review and provide inputs to contractor social training and competency plans.
Reviews and provides quality technical and social management system feedback in Contractor social management plans and procedures, to verify:o All minimum requirements set forth in relevant contractor control plans as applicable to their scope are met.
o Mobilisation readiness prior to start of construction activities.
o Response capabilities and resourcing to address non-conformances and timely closure of corrective actions.o Adherence to management of change processes and supporting documentation.
Participates in contractor meetings to address social performance matters arising and drive performance improvements.
Participate in contractor site mobilisation readiness reviews.
Participates in contractor meetings to raise social performance issues and drive performance improvements.
Provides technical guidance and social management system implementation support to the CRS.
Provides social inputs to project management of change processes.
Participates in relevant LESC meetings, audit visit information, data, and social performance presentation preparation.
Tracks corrective actions arising from LESC audit findings and observations towards timely closure.
