QUALIFICATIONS➢ Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or BusinessAdministration.➢ Holder of East African Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding Practice (addedadvantage)EXPERIENCE➢ 5+ years of experience in operations management within the logistics, clearing andforwarding industry.➢ Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational improvements.SKILLS➢ Strong leadership and team management skills.➢ Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.➢ Proficient knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes andshipping logistics.➢ Strong analytical and problem- solving skills,➢ Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.➢ Good computer skill familiar with MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word).Key Responsibilities:Operational Management;➢ oversee all aspects of operations including customs clearance, freight forwardingand logistics management➢ Develop and implement SOP to improve efficiency and minimize operational risks.➢ Manage resource allocation including personnel, equipment and budget to optimizeoperational efficiency.Team leadership➢ Manage, train and mentor operational staff, fostering a culture of teamwork andcontinuous development.➢ Lead regular team meetings to ensure clear communication of goals, performanceexpectations and operational updates.Client Relationship Management➢ Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needsand provide superior service.➢ Serve as a point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns and ensuringsatisfactory resolution of issues.Performance monitoring➢ Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas forimprovements and track progress.➢ Implement performance management systems that facilitate regular assessment ofteam performance.Collaboration➢ Collaborate with other departments such as Finance and HR to align operationalstrategies with business objectives.➢ Work with external stakeholders including shipping lines and freight forwarders tocoordinate logistics and improve service offerings.Process Improvements➢ Identify and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations and enhanceservice delivery.➢ Conduct regular reviews of operations and enhance service delivery.Reporting➢ Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operationalperformance, challenges and initiatives.
