Education : Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or Management or related disciplineExperience required: Minimum 8 years professional experience with projects or operations environmental management in the oil & gas industryExpertise with Tanzania environmental legislation, International best practices, and other standards such as IFC , IPIECA, Best Available Techniques.
Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Fluent in English.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop scope of works for the required environmental studies to obtain the approvals using the list of required permits.Work with Contracts & Procurement process to identify qualified contractors to undertake the studies.Ensure defined studies are conducted effectively to achieve project timelines i.e., on-time and on-budget.Assist in the management of the tracking of all permits granted and monitor the renewal period.Support the acquisition of relevant environmental permits, certificates and licenses as required by the project.Provide support in the review of environmental requirements for contractors.Review contractor control plans for alignment with company plans.Monitor the implementation of ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) commitments and mitigation measures for Company and its contractors.Coordinate environmental compliance audits.Participate in the review of environmental reports like ESIAs (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment), project briefs, audits, and other environmental studies.Monitor the implementation of environmental management plans.Contribute to assessing and identifying risks which might prevent the proper development of the project.Raise awareness amongst the project team of environmental risks and aspects that need to be considered.Participate in the development and implementation of the detailed environmental management plans (DMPs).Working with the social and stakeholder teams, provides technical environmental input into all community engagement activities.AccountabilitiesEnvironmental reporting & auditingEIMS environmental aspects developmentSME for environmental incidents andProject and field environmental supportPermits, certificates and licensing requirements.
