QualificationProfessional experience:
Graduate degree in a botany or science related discipline.
Minimum of 20 years’ experience with time spent supporting conservation projects.
Knowledge of and experience with reinstatement requirements for large projects.
Technical competencies:
Familiarity with IFC standard, CHAs and associated management plans and systems that support lender complianceBehavioural competencies:
Ability to work in a multi-cultural business setting and excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential.
Fluent in English, (speaking, writing)
Job description
Knowledge of EACOP project, familiar with environmental context for the pipeline Right of Way.
Experience with other reinstatement activities of similar nature, preferable in East Africa.
Qualification – Graduate degree in botany or related field
Understand Tanzania regulations requirements for park management and other regulatory and legal requirements
Preparation Activities
Understand EACOP Critical Habitat Assessments (CHAs) including GIS mapping
Have knowledge of the various habitats traversed by EACOP
Experience with multi-disciplinary surveys (biology and social)
The main activities for this role will include:
Verification of field data for natural and critical habitat
Development of location specific reinstatement plans
Establishment of reinstatement infrastructure (e.g., nurseries)
Monitoring and evaluation of ongoing reinstatement activities
