Education and qualification
Business related degree preferably Bachelor of Commerce in Accounts or Finance
Full CPA (T) or ACCA or its equivalent with three years relevant experience. Must be registered by NBAA as an Approved Accountant.
Ability to set up and maintain financial systems and develop internal control procedures
In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law, risk management practices, and accounting principles.
Professional accounting designation preferred.
Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.

ResponsobilitiesFinancial Accounting and Reporting
Efficient management of SLA with Group Financial Accounting and Treasury Shared Service Centre
Budgeting, forecasts e.t.c. to be challenged, produced and approved within dates set
Financial and statutory reports produced within set deadlines and in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Conduct financial risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Performance Management
Assist TZ MD with optimization of Operations.
Identify KPI’s to manage inefficiencies and follow up with resolutions
Management of Capital Expenditure and Projects
CAPEX proposals challenged and authorized.
Approve local CAPEX proposals for further authorization by Board/East Africa CEO/Group Finance
Ensure CAPEX expenditures and costs are monitored and kept within approved budgets.
Working Capital
Working capital optimized
Close relationships with major local and international suppliers.
Challenge Purchase Order requests and payment terms.
Creditor days in line with prior year or improving.
Stock obsolescence identified in a timely manner and recoverability maximized
Banking Relations
Ensure healthy relationships with financial institutions and scout for relationships.
Comply with all banking covenants.
Manage payments within approval rights.
East Africa lead for regional banks headquartered in Tanzania.
Risk Management and Corporate Governance
Maximum cash collection.
Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
Minimum levels of undetected theft and fraud.
All possible risks are controlled for by contingency plans.
All the assets are adequately tracked and appropriately insured.
Claims are settled timeously and in full.
Compliance with local country legislation and regulatory requirements.

Auditing
Timeous submission of annual audited year end packs.
Member of board audit committee.
Clean audit reports and favourable internal audit reports.
Internal and External Audits carried out effectively at the least possible audit cost.

Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
Manage Tax and Regulatory Affairs
Returns submitted on time as regulated and with the minimum tax payable.
Actively manage recovery of unrefunded VAT.
Manage Transfer Pricing Policy.
Local lead on smart meter VAT zero rating/exemption.
Local lead on Carbon Credits certification and regulatory discussions.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies.

Efficient management of local Finance Team ensuring skill and resource gaps are efficiently managed.
