QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or master’s degree in automotive Mechanics or Industrial Maintenance ;
3 to 5 years of experience as a mechanic or maintenance technician for heavy equipment or trucks ;
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics ;
Team management skills ;
Technical problem-solving ability for heavy equipment ;
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and vehicle maintenance software ;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ;
Ability to work independently ;
Knowledge of general technical standards is an asset ;
Familiarity with database usage ;
Analytical, synthesizing skills with good interpersonal abilities ;
High moral standards.
Essential Functions
Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on vehicles ;
Diagnose mechanical issues and propose appropriate solutions ;
Plan and coordinate maintenance operations based on operational needs ;
Manage and guide the mechanics team, delegate tasks, and enhance personnel skills ;
Ensure the quality of completed maintenance tasks adheres to safety and performance standards ;
Oversee spare parts inventory and consumables required for maintenance ;
Write technical reports on completed interventions and recurring failures ;
Collaborate with other teams to improve vehicle availability ;
Diagnose vehicle malfunctions ;
Use diagnostic tools effectively ;
Organize and monitor maintenance activities ;
Propose improvements for equipment safety and performance ;
Create and implement preventive and curative maintenance schedules ;
Ensure the proper functioning of machines and tools after repairs ;
Enforce safety regulations ;
Design and interpret technical schematics ;
Research and evaluate new equipment for maintenance use ;
Conduct technical analyses ;
Monitor spare parts consumption trends ;
Maintain cleanliness at the vehicle maintenance site ;
Handle personnel management tasks, such as evaluating worker performance, managing conflicts, and addressing grievances, which are reported to the Logistics and HR departments ;
Compile maintenance statistics for recurring failures ;Collect complaints to enhance service quality ;
Communicate regularly with supervisors to exchange information and find solutions to common problems
Ensure refueling of generators and forklifts ;
Send daily vehicle maintenance reports via email to the Maintenance Manager, with a copy reserved for the Logistics Director ;
Periodically conduct informational and orientation meetings (instruction application) with staff ;
Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and installations ;
Stay updated on technological advancements in vehicle maintenance and propose improvements.
